Pensioners in Benue State have called on the state government to resolve long-standing financial claims dating back 27 years. The Concerned Pensioners Association (CPA) made the demand during a statement released on Pensioners Day. The association highlighted outstanding pension arrears, gratuities, and requests for pension rate harmonization.

The CPA emphasized that the unresolved financial issues have created significant hardship for retirees. Members of the association stated that the delays in processing payments have affected their livelihoods and financial stability. The group urged the state government to take immediate action to address the backlog.

This is not the first time pensioners in Benue have raised concerns about delayed payments. Similar calls for resolution have been made in previous years, often without substantial progress. The current demand follows a renewed push for transparency and timely disbursement of funds. The situation reflects broader challenges in the management of public pensions across Nigeria.
