The National Off-Licence Association (NOffLA) in Ireland has announced its Wines of the Year for 2024, selecting a Spanish white and a Chilean red as the top picks. The association, which represents independent specialist off-licences across the country, revealed the winners during its annual Star Awards event.

The Spanish white wine, from the Rías Baixas region, was praised for its crisp acidity and floral notes, while the Chilean red, from the Colchón vineyard, was noted for its bold fruitiness and smooth finish. Both wines were selected by a panel of industry experts and sommeliers.

NOffLA has been highlighting regional and international wines annually since 2018, aiming to support local and global producers through increased visibility. The association emphasizes the importance of diversity in wine offerings to cater to a wide range of consumer preferences. The event also included awards for best bar, best staff, and most innovative menu.
