Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused the United States of failing to support Ukraine after a Russian bomb attack killed at least 35 people in Kramatorsk. The strike, which targeted two buses, brought the two-day death toll from Russian attacks to over 70.
Zelensky criticized Washington’s efforts to maintain economic ties with Russia while also seeking to mediate the ongoing war. He called for a “European team” to join peace talks in the United States.
A separate drone attack hit the city hours after the bomb strike, according to local authorities. The attack damaged infrastructure and displaced residents.
The attacks come amid escalating tensions on the front lines, where Russia has faced repeated setbacks. Ukrainian lawmakers, including Yulia Klymenko, have accused Russia of waging a “fight and genocide against civilians.”
The war, now in its fourth year, has seen increasing civilian casualties and growing international scrutiny. Zelensky’s call for a European-led peace effort reflects mounting pressure on global powers to take a stronger stance.
