A man who once starred as a child on BBC and ITV has died after being attacked by a tiger at a wildlife park in Yorkshire. William Chapman, 32, was filmed on his phone as he approached the tiger inside its enclosure at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. The footage shows him walking toward the animal before the attack.
The incident occurred on a weekday afternoon, with staff at the park reportedly attempting to intervene. Emergency services were called to the scene, but Chapman was pronounced dead at the hospital. The tiger, which was part of the park’s collection, was later sedated and removed for examination.
This is the second known fatality involving a tiger at a UK wildlife park in recent years. In 2021, a man was killed by a tiger at a similar facility in Wales. Authorities have since called for stricter safety protocols at such attractions. The Yorkshire Wildlife Park has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.
