A Polish man opened fire in Krakow's main square on Saturday, killing six people and injuring 15 others. The attack occurred in the Old Town, a popular tourist area, around 3pm local time. The shooter, identified as a Polish citizen, targeted people at random as he drove into the crowded square. Police officers were called to the scene and eventually shot and wounded the gunman.

The incident has led to national mourning in Poland. Flags are being flown at half-mast, and two days of mourning have begun. The defense minister described the attack as an "act of terror." The gunman is believed to have far-right views.

This is the second mass shooting in Krakow this year. The first occurred in January, when a man opened fire in a shopping center, killing three people. The current attack has raised concerns about public safety in the city. Authorities are investigating the motive behind the shooting. The gunman is currently in custody.
