Bichi mobilized local stakeholders in Kano State to support President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid, according to a statement from the All Progressives Congress (APC). The effort comes as political tensions rise in the North, with reports of protests and attacks on APC campaign activities. Bichi, a key figure in the APC, held strategic meetings in Bichi town to coordinate campaign efforts and assure the party of Tinubu's chances.
Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, expressed confidence that Nigerians will grant Tinubu a second term. Yari emphasized the party's commitment to securing voter support, particularly in regions where Tinubu's 2023 performance was mixed. Meanwhile, Senator John Owan Enoh, Minister of State for Industry, vowed to improve on Tinubu's 2023 results in Cross River State, aiming for a 18/18 win in 2027.
Political analysts note growing discontent in the North, fueled by economic hardship and calls for power rotation. Protests and attacks on APC materials have raised concerns about Tinubu's re-election prospects. Despite these challenges, APC leaders continue to rally support, focusing on local engagement and campaign coordination. The 2027 general election is shaping up as a critical test for Tinubu's administration.
