President Bola Tinubu has submitted three executive bills to the House of Representatives for consideration. The proposals include reforms to Nigeria’s drug law enforcement framework, an expanded mandate for the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), and the establishment of a National School of Government. The bills were delivered in separate letters dated October 12, 2026.

Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, read the letters during a plenary session on Thursday. The documents outline Tinubu’s plans to strengthen national security and improve public administration. The drug law reform aims to enhance the capacity of law enforcement agencies to combat illicit substances. The NSIB expansion would broaden its investigative powers to address emerging security threats. The National School of Government is intended to provide training for public officials.

This follows Tinubu’s broader agenda to modernize governance structures and improve institutional effectiveness. The bills reflect his administration’s focus on transparency, accountability, and capacity building. The House is expected to review the proposals in the coming weeks. The legislative process will determine whether the bills proceed to become law.
