Ukraine has resumed military strikes on Russian oil refineries after a three-day pause, following the full restoration of Starshield services. The decision comes amid growing frustration with U.S. President Donald Trump’s stance on the conflict. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his discontent with Trump’s calls for an energy ceasefire, stating he is “done” with the former president’s demands.
The resumption of strikes follows the restoration of Starshield, a military-grade internet service provided by SpaceX’s Starlink satellites. Ukrainian officials confirmed that Starshield has been restored to full capacity, enabling critical military operations, including drone strikes. The service had been restricted, disrupting Ukraine’s ability to conduct targeted attacks.
Zelenskyy accused Washington of withdrawing critical defense support, escalating tensions between Ukraine and the United States. His comments were made during a visit to London, where he met with British officials. The decision to resume strikes was also a direct response to Trump’s recent ban on targeting Russian oil refineries.
The conflict over military support has intensified as Ukraine seeks to maintain its strategic advantage. The resumption of strikes underscores the growing divide between Ukraine and the U.S. Leadership, particularly regarding military aid and operational autonomy.
The situation highlights the complex relationship between Ukraine and its allies, with Zelenskyy pushing for greater independence in military decisions. The restoration of Starshield has allowed Ukraine to regain control over its operations, reinforcing its position in the ongoing conflict.
