Former Minister of Transportation Mu’azu Jaji Sambo has publicly endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections. Sambo, a key figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State, urged Nigerians to remain patient with the administration’s ongoing economic reforms. His endorsement comes as the APC intensifies its campaign efforts, with the party’s National Woman Leader, Dr Mary Alile, announcing a target of 10.5 million votes from women nationwide for Tinubu’s re-election.

The APC Women Directorate of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) revealed its strategy during a rally in Calabar, where Alile expressed confidence in the party’s ability to mobilize female voters. Meanwhile, the Kwara Alliance for Tinubu is working to reconcile APC stakeholders and aims to secure 1.5 million votes for the president. These efforts highlight the growing political momentum behind Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Tinubu’s campaign has also drawn criticism, with opposition figures like Omoyele Sowore alleging that an aide and in-law of the president was involved in an attack in Ekiti. Additionally, Tinubu’s recent prayer in Saudi Arabia’s inner Kaaba, where he expressed gratitude for being allowed to continue as president, has sparked debate. Atiku’s spokesperson has questioned the legitimacy of spiritual claims in political matters, emphasizing that no second term can be granted through such means.

The 2027 election will be a critical test for Tinubu’s administration, with internal party dynamics and external political challenges shaping the campaign. As the APC and its allies prepare for the race, the focus remains on mobilizing support and addressing key issues facing the nation.
