A knife-wielding man attacked a group of migrants on a small boat heading to the UK, according to reports. The incident occurred as Channel crossings resumed after a three-week break due to severe weather conditions. The boat, carrying 263 people, reached UK shores yesterday.
The attacker, identified as a man on board, reportedly threatened the migrants with a knife, shouting "I'll kill you." The situation unfolded near the French coast, where the boat was intercepted by UK coastguards. No casualties were reported, but the incident has raised concerns about safety during such crossings.
This is the first such attack reported since the resumption of Channel crossings. The UK government has urged migrants to avoid such dangerous journeys, citing the risks involved. The incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by those attempting to reach the UK by sea, despite the temporary halt due to weather. The coastguard response was swift, ensuring the safe disembarkation of all passengers.
